Soloist : Jeremy Huynh

Jeremy started learning ‘cello at the age of 8, and since then has been actively performing in many orchestras, chamber music ensembles, and as a soloist. He has performed with orchestras such as the UWA Symphony Orchestra, for which he was the principal cellist, and was a finalist in the Vose Memorial Concerto Prize in both 2010 and 2011. Jeremy has also been the associate principal cellist of the Swan Philharmonic Orchestra and Western Australian Charity Orchestra.

Aside from performing with the Apollo String Quartet, Jeremy has also been part of a piano trio that has played in a master class with the Australian String Quartet. As a soloist, he has performed in master classes with international cellists, including Steven Isserlis and Jian Wang, and in 2012 won the Pauline Steel Memorial Prize for violoncello at UWA. Jeremy completed his Diploma of Music at UWA at the end of 2012, and is currently completing a Bachelor in Engineering and Commerce. In 2013 he joined the Australian Youth Orchestra on their National Music Camp in Adelaide.
